Worming

Worming of both adult dogs and cats is recommended every 3 months. Puppies and kittens require worming every 2-4 wks (depending on wormer used) until 12 weeks then every month until 6 months.

We recommend a broad spectrum wormer that kills both roundworms and tapeworms. Drontal and Milbemax are the most effective products to use. They are easy to use and involve just a one off dose. For puppies and kittens Panacur is a very good roundwormer but will not kill tapeworms. Pet shop or supermarket wormers are usually less effective as they do not kill the full range of worms.

Worms not only cause disease in cats and dogs but also, and perhaps more importantly, can cause serious disease in people, especially children and people with weak immune systems.
