At Charter Vets we pride ourselves on offering a modern veterinary approach to farm animal practice, combining progressive preventative medicine with a traditional personalised approach, through a combination of experience and youthful enthusiasm!

We have 4 dedicated farm animal vets who are focused on working with farm clients to ensure high standards of farm animal health:

Ian Robinson – Ian has been at Charter Vets since he qualified in 1979 and runs the farm animal side of the practice.  He has a great deal of experience in farm animal work and particularly enjoys the excellent working relationships he has built up with clients over this time.

Rob Hill – Rob qualified in 1990 and has a focus within the practice on farm animal disease control.  He is the first point of contact with regards to national herd health planning such as Livestock NW and LANTRA grant awards.  Rob is also a Livestock NW trained vet in Johnes disease control and myhealthyherd.

Marcus Johnstone – Marcus qualified in 1994 and provides Charter Vets with vital experience in farm animal emergency work.  Although some of his time is now spent on small animal work – he is on farm several mornings a week and he helps to cover the surgery out of hours, ensuring a dedicated experienced farm animal vet is always available.

Isobel Payne – Isobel qualified in 2007 and worked in farm animal practice in Oxfordshire before joining Charter Vets in 2010.  Isobel's main interests are in dairy herd economics, fertility, somatic cell count reduction and client knowledge transfer.  Isobel is responsible for the organisation of a lot of our practice meetings and farmers' groups.

Office Staff:

Heather Dean – Heather has managed the farm office for many years and there is very little that she doesn’t know about farm animal practice.  Heather will handle all TB testing appointments, drug orders and day to day routine work.

Tracy Garside – Tracy provides the back up for the farm team when Heather is unavailable and now has a great deal of experience in dealing with farm related problems.  It is likely that when you call in the daytime you will speak to either Heather or Tracy.
